I'm an advantage member at photoshopcontest.com (PSC). PSC members can enter a daily contest by chopping (altering) an image submitted by a member. The goal is to create something new out of the original image or "source" image as it is known. Members can comment on any entry but have a limited number of votes to use based on membership. Contests are open for three days before voting ends. First, second, and third place are awarded.

Some of my entries are referred to as "all source" images. The term implies that the new image was made entirely from the source image and or additional parts were hand-drawn in a digital painting program. At times an all source image can earn more votes because of its purist approach. And at other times it doesn't mean diddly squat.

Many of my entries use additional images from my photo collection or from a photo stock agency such as istockphoto.com. It just depends on what the idea calls for and whether it's easier to use an image from my collection, buy the image, or shoot it myself.
