The idea for this piece came to me while reviewing some istockphoto.com images in my resources which hadn't been used yet. I felt that the woman's curves were a perfect complement to the curving X-9 missiles. Her fetal-like position was also a plus. The piece immediately took shape as a statment on war. I added a circular shape and brightened the area in front of the body where all would eventually be destroyed. Seeing the blue sky in the woman's body reminded me of Pink Floyd's Goodbye Blue Sky:

Pink Floyd - Goodbye Blue Sky

Oooooooo ooo ooo ooooh
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
Did you ever wonder
Why we had to run for shelter
When the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky
Oooooooo ooo ooooo oooh
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
The flames are all long gone
But the pain lingers on
Goodbye blue sky
Goodbye blue sky
Goodbye
Goodbye
