#71 Ready to LightPanel Content...
Panel Content...Contest Period: 04/27/2007 - 04/30/2007 "Ready to Light" is an "all source" image which means it is a rearrangement of the existing elements from the source. The inspiration for this image came from the cover of the book "Breaking Designer's Block," which I sat down to look through but didn't get past the front cover before coming up with an idea. The cover depicts a graphic of a swinging wrecking ball and chain. This inspired me to think of a clock pendulum. I set out to create three clocks with respective time zones and colors for America, Iran, and North Korea. After clipping out the bombs and playing with the composition I opted to go with a single bomb. The smaller red bomb/pendulum symbolizes a match. A solitary tree was placed on the horizon to represent the eventual loneliness and disparity of the situation. Men march into the scene, fading with each step until almost disappearing under the bomb. Planes were used as clock hands.
