I didn't have any idea pre-sketched for this entry. Two goals were set: one, use only the source image and Photoshop, and two, make damn sure it doesn't come close to looking like any other entry. To begin, I cut out the freeway bridge in the background of the source image. Parts of the foreground bridge were also cut out. The columns were turned into a starfish like object which can be seen on the left side of the finished piece. The foreground bridge was set aside in favor of the background bridge which I duplicated, mirrored and the duplicated and rotated the result to create a mothership for the body snatchers. The middle of each body snatcher was colored with a burnt orange before applying painted textures to each body. It wasn't until the piece was nearly 3/4 finished before I knew it would become "Body Snatchers." The original image was cropped and placed in the background before adding a smokey/steamy atmosphere.
