#41 Eyes on the PrizePanel Content...
Panel Content...Contest Period: 3/09/2007 - 03/12/2007 By mirroring and rotating the main emu chick I created a nest of emus. Since this was going to be an anonyomous contest with a prize I decided to put a single emu egg in the nest and that is how I came up with the title, Eyes on the Prize. By this point I'd grown a bit tired of the usual PSC contest routine and decided to update my image throughout the contest by depicting the "prize egg" in various stages of hatching.
Updating an image during a contest, especially a prize contest, can go against you if you are tied for votes. If you are tied for votes, the winner is determined by who posted their entry first. If you updated, you go to the end of the tie line. However, a great update can gain you votes by people who appreciate what you've done.
The emu eye is from istockphoto.com. I took an egg from the fridge, drained its contents, and then digitally captured various stages of cracking. These images were then combined with an emu egg from istockphoto.com. The new image is an image that is half-way between the hatching series. The wings depicted in the last image came from istockphoto.com. You can see the hatching series here. Use your back button to return.
Please continue on by reviewing the "Source Image" and "New Image" tabs above. Afterwards you can read the votes/comments and see the other entries by clicking PSC Contest Entry. Panel Content...![]() |
