"Icy Departure" is about relationships gone bad, it is also about relationships that will never be. A naked woman has been suspended in a frozen block of ice which is inside a tree stump. Her nakedness symbolizes a need for change, to be desired. But she has created a wall of ice around her which makes it difficult for anyone to see inside her, to be next to her. An ice fisherman is seen leaving in the opposite direction from which she is pointing. The man is heavily bundled up as though he himself is unwilling to change. Maybe he wishes to protect himself from the elements of love. It is possible that the two will cross paths again simply by continuing forward in their respective directions. The infinite loop seen in the top of the tree stump plays on this idea.
