Contest Period: 03/03/2007 - 03/06/2007

Beginning with Psycho Shadow I decided to journal the creative process. I used the journal to sketch the source image, write down keywords, and ideas. I always try to determine the obvious aspects of the image and then focus on the secondary elements for additional insight. In this case I went with the shadow, deciding early on that the shadow wouldn't match the hand. Somewhere along the way Alfred Hitchcock entered my mind so I began doing a lot of image research. I created shadows from various Hitchcock movie images, blurred each one and placed them within the scene. I added the girl from psycho to the thumb and created a blood spattered background. The blood dripping from the thumb was a happy accident resulting from placing a PhotoFrame Pro border around the image. A jagged line came with the border which I then cut out and moved to the thumb area.
