Contest Period: 03/04/2007 - 03/07/2007

This entry nearly ruined my 50 straight days of entries. I was so focused on creating a non-airplane entry that I ignored one of my first ideas and spent way too much time trying to create a weird underwater world with wacky figures. When it didn't work I was left exhausted, and resisted doing the work needed to test out the first idea. I decided to go to bed telling myself that it would be okay to miss "one" contest, life wouldn't end and that the creative well hadn't dried up. I tossed and turned all night, awakening finally at 4:45 a.m. As I laid there I told myself that if I couldn't come up with something in two hours I'd let it go and move on. The added time pressure meant I had to keep it simple, which turned out to be a good thing. I built the birds and added a worm from my photo collection. The wings were made from from the source. The image was posted one hour after the contest opened.
