My first recorded idea was "rooster's in a cockfight." Originally I was going to feature the heads of two rooster's going at it with some political overtones. Half my time creating this image was spent doing image research. First, I looked through google images for cockfighting pictures, nothing too inspiring was found. I decided to review the rooster images at istockphoto.com. I found the main chicken and also discoverd a closeup of a rooster eye which I used to replace the white rooster's eye, and the eye was made larger for a more wild and viscious look. After creating the Killer Cock I decided it was strong enough to be the focal point and that I would add a dead chicken with only the feet protruding upwards. The dead rooster legs come from another istockphoto.com picture which I clipped and blurred. Smoke was added with a custom Photoshop brush.
